Today we headed out of the city, taking a train to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, where we met up with Sandy's sister Sue and her partner Geoff for a day sightseeing and, most importantly, a long-overdue and much-anticipated reunion. The weather delivered a beautiful day for it and we spent the afternoon at Scenic World riding their cable cars and the world's steepest railway down to the valley floor (complete with dinosaurs), followed by a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant with stunning views across the valley to the mountains in the distance. A really memorable day with lovely people we don't see often enough. Word of the day: family.
